From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot had just leveled at cruise flight approximately 700' AGL when engine began to lose power, sputter sporadically and reduce RPM. Pilot performed emergency procedures and set up to land on frozen lake. Pilot executed emergency landing with partial power on frozen lake and while rolling out from successful landing contacted a snow drift due to flat light conditions and poor visibility. The nose fork sheared off at the block and subsequently the propeller struck the ice and bent the blades. Company maintenance personnel replaced the nose fork and propeller and flew the aircraft back to their maintenance base without further incident.
