From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Responded to call from NE comm center. Aircraft landed long and fast at Marlboro Airport and crashed into fence at end of runway 32. Arrived on scene to view aircraft prop entangled in chain link fencing at end of runway at the edge of street running perpendicular to the runway, farm street. Noted several dents in leading edge of both wings, wingtips lights broken. Force of impact into fence poles caused LH wing to show a crease and pop rivets at point where wing meets the fuselage. Had engine sudden stoppage as aircraft hit fence traveling approx. 20-30MPH. Damage also to propeller. Interviewed pilot of aircraft. Was on a temporary private pilot certificate issued 12/04/01. Very low time. 98 total hours. Almost all in this make and model. Pilot stated that he did two passes and attempted to land on the third pass. The runway is listed at 1682 feet and had trees on the approach end. The aircraft touched down & proceeded down the runway approx. 400 feet and contacted the 8' chain link fence.
