From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 02/13/02, united airline flight 297, a B-757-222, diverted to pit due to a failure of the left generator. CFR responded and the aircraft taxied to the ramp with no further incidents. Maintenance crews at Pittsburgh contacted sfolm and checked operation of the APU and determined it was operational and checked o.k. and then they cleared the deferral (ref DF58). Maintenance then placed the left generator on deferred maintenance. The flight was then continued to san francisco. This closes this incident.
