From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While doing a touch and go at Long Beach airport, Mr. Richard nelson a student pilot, lost control of his aircraft, N38026, a Beechcraft skipper. After touching down on runway 25L, Mr. Nelson stated that he retracted the flaps, the aircraft then started to veer to the left side of the runway. Mr. Nelson attempted to "steer" the aircraft to the right, but was unsuccessful. The aircraft exited runway 25L, crossed a grassy area, crossed taxiway foxtrot, went through the federal express cargo ramp and then came to a stop after the left wing struck a chain link fence. Mr. Nelson stated that all aircraft systems were working properly before this accident and the aircraft's power was at the idle position.
