From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot departed santa monica, California IFR for Hailey, Idaho. The temperatures at altitude were -40 degrees and the surface temperature at Hailey was 0 degrees fahrenheit. The pilot extended the landing gear on approach and only the left main gear locked into place. He notified Hailey tower of this condition and then maneuvered while working on the problem. After repeated attempts to retract and extend, still ony the left main would lock and illuminate its green light. The pilot then initiated the approach again and executed the emergency procedures, which in this case is to pull the gear blow down handle which pneumatically extends the landing gear. Still only the left main was locked, the landing was initiated and the aircraft touched down with the left gear down and locked, the right main was partially extended but not locked, the nose gear was extended however it was not locked. The nose gear stayed extended on roll out and the right wing tip, aileron, flap, and propeller all made contact and sustained damage. N421DG came to rest on rw 31.

As the FAA filed it
