What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) N777KT was on a routine flight bfi to geg on a cargo run the evening of 03/18/2002. The pilot noticed the right engine oil temp climb into the red arc and the oil pressure later began to drop. He pulled back the right engine power. The oil temp stayed in the red but the oil pressure stayed above the red arc minimum so the pilot made the decision to not feather the engine. The pilot landed the aircraft without incident, and noticed large amounts of black/blue smoke from the right exhaust/engine while taxiing to the ramp. Investigation by maintenance revealed the turbocharger oil seal failed, pumping most of the engine oil into the exhaust pipe. No aircraft damage.
