From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Electrical failure: the landing gear did not extend fully. The pilot performed a go-around and used the manual gear extension. Both mains made ground contact and the landing gear appeared to be locked. After 50 yards the left main landing gear collapsed. The left wing tip scraped and the left gear door was damaged. The left brake was scraped. The pilot landed the aircraft with minimum aircraft damage. Electrical failure: battery was totally dead and landing gear actuator rod was damaged. Corrective action: the battery was internally shorted and the alternator was overloaded which caused the field circuit breaker to pop. Battery was replaced and the circuit breaker was reset.
