From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While towing a glider at boulder at boulder county airport (1V5), wind direction and velocity changed after take off. (Peak gusts @ 45). Landing was aborted and alternate of Longmont (2V2) was selected. While attempting a go-around at Longmont, pilot found climb performance degraded due to change in wind direction, (shifting to tail wind). Pilot reported hitting a fence (prairie dog variety) during climb out. The aircraft continued to perform normally post-contact and pilot decided to find another alternate with more favorable wind conditions. Aircraft was flown for over an hour with no appreciable performance degradation. Upon landing at erie tri-county (48V) pilot inspected airplane and found minor damage in accordance with definitions as found in CFR 830.2. Pilot did fill out and forward NASA report in accordance with the aviation safety reporting system.
