What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot stated he had just gotten requalified in N4712E, an Aeronca-7EC tailwheel aircraft. On may 12, 2002, on a pleasure flight initiated from lenhardt airport (7S9), the pilot decided to land at the Flying m ranch (OR05) near Yamhill, OR. Pilot circled the field twice, observing wind direction and traffic. After a normal touch down, the pilot states that he immediately applied brakes for the roll-out. The aircraft drifted right and did not react to left rudder and brake applications. The pilot stated that the landng gear struts had not fully settled when he applied brakes and believes that uneven weight and traction caused the right drift. The domed construction of the grass/gravel runway exacerbated the right drift and countered the left pedal effects. The aircraft stopped when it struck a parked Cessna 182. The right wing was damaged as it passed over the static Cessna propeller. The right wing then glanced over the Cessna's right wing. The Cessna prop was bent and the paint scuffed on the wing top surface. Subsequent inspection of the Aeronca's right wing revealed that the wood spar was nearly cut in two just outboard of the wing strut attach point. No injuries reported and no pilot deviations associated.
As the FAA filed it
(-23) PILOT STATED HE HAD JUST GOTTEN REQUALIFIED IN N4712E, AN AERONCA-7EC TAILWHEEL AIRCRAFT.
