From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Canton-Hackney Airport (7E5) is a 3750' north/south (18/36) asphalt runway. It has a large dip at the approach end of rwy 18 with a rise approx. 500-600 feet further down the runway. The approach to rwy 18 is clear of trees and obstructions. The runway is bordered on the west side by a municipal golf course and east by a large stock pond. In the vicinity of the accident site there is a terrain drop of approx. 30 feet toward the stock pond. A set of standard power lines also borders the runway on the east traversing the area approx. 5' feet from the edge of the stock pond. These powerlines area approx. 60' tall. The pilot has given the following statement: "he was making an approach to rwy 18 when he attempted to abort the landing and execute a go-around. He applied power, the acft immediately yawed violently to the left and departed the runway." The acft came to rest in the stock pond approx. 30' from the bank and parallel to the runway completely submerged. The water line was along a line from the aft nav light to the two antenna on the top of the acft. Estimated water depth was 4-6 feet. An eye witness stated to a Texas dps officer he saw the pilot exit the acft, reenter the acft obtaining (see 8020-23 for complete narrative).
