From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During a phone conversation with Mr. Rohweder on the 17th of may, he explained that he had decided to do some night landings in preparation for a trip he would be taking that weekend. He had done two take offs and landings from rwy 03, on his second landing he elected to roll out to the end of rwy 03 and take off rwy 21. His stated intention was to go out do a 180 and shoot the ILS for 03 for his final landing. With the change in routine and the added elements of the ILS, Mr. Rohweder did not complete his checklist and did not put the landing gear down. The wind was reported as calm that night, and the recovery crew stated that when the aircraft was placed on jacks and the gear selector was put in the down position the landing gear operated normally.
