From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Aircraft entered the parking ramp in the wrong area and tried to taxi in between two parked aircraft. Ramp personnel initially stopped the aircraft and tried to signal the pilot to go back out and come into parking the the established way. A miscommunication must have occurred and the pilot attempted to go between the two parked aircraft when his left wing tip struck the tail section of the parked company aircraft. No injuries were reported and the damage to both aircraft was minimal. Note: there was an old yellow taxiway line that may explain why the pilot was confused. This line has been blacked out and the parking spot of the aircraft that was damaged has been eliminated hopefully lessoning the chance of a reoccurrence of this incident. This report is closed.
