From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 5/22/02, at approximately 0900, aircraft declared an in-flight emergency (ife) and landed at alb. On descent into alb with increased airspeed, aircraft experienced yaw to the right then yaw to the left. F.o. disengaged auto pilot and slowed aircraft from 285KTS to 250KTS then to 220KTS at an altitude of 17,000 MSL. F.o. immediately made necessary inputs to the rudder system and aileron to counter act yaw and roll. Yaw damp was selected on and off by f.o. to verify the disengagement of the yaw dampener. F.o. continued to counter act yaw and roll oscillations throughout descent and landing phases of the flight.

As the FAA filed it
