From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Left lower main gear door departed aircraft. Landing gear was in up position and the loss of the landing gear door resulted in unsecured left brake hose. Left main gear brake hose jammed between left main landing gear scissor assembly and gear well opening. This caused the left main gear not to extend. The pilot, who is a repairman for the aircraft, adjusted the left main gear doors prior to this flight. He thought that he may have failed to tighten all of the hardware. End of statement.
