What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On downwind leg to rwy 32 noticed there was not a green light - looked out left window and saw wheel, asked pax to look out for wheel, she indicated yes, radio tower to look for nose wheel, tower requested a flyby, pilot did so, but tower said it was too dark, tower requested if I wanted to do it again he would come out on the cat walk with binoculars, pilot flew by again and he said, "I'm 90% sure the nosewheel is down." Pilot the proceeded to land and the right main gear folded back under causing the aircraft to turn to the right and come to a stop off the runway in the grass. Pilot turned off the gas and exited the aircraft and radioed the tower that everybody was alright.
