From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Airman reports landing runway 05 in full stall landing. The roll out was initially normal, then the aircraft suddenly veered left and ran off the side of the runway. The aircraft struck a one foot high berm approximately 40 feet from the runway edge and flipped over on its back. The aircraft came to rest approximately five feet down an embankment. The pilot was the only person on board. He received no injuries. The aircraft rudder and vertical stabilizer were damaged, the right wing was bent at the wing root and the right wing struts were bent. Inspection of the aircraft revealed that the clip attaching the right tail wheel spring to the tailwheel was missing. A thorough search of the runway failed to locate the clip.
