From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Airman made a normal approach to his helipad, which is located on the shore of a lake, at his personal residence. After the approach, the airman began to hover taxi his helicopter towards the hospital, with a 10-knot tailwind at 4-5 feet above the water. Due to the high density altitude conditions, the tailwind condition, and attempting to hover taxi over water, the "low RPM" warning horn and light came on during the hover taxi. The airman attempted to gain rotor RPM by lowering the collective and increasing the power which did not correct the low RPM condition. The helicopter slowly sank into the water, turned on its side, and came to rest in 5 feet of water. There was minor damage to one rotor blade, due to it striking the muddy lake bottom.
