From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot rented aircraft from horizon aviation in warwick, RI and flew to Newport, RI. Upon landing the pilot porpoised and struck the propeller on the pavement. One prop blade was bent forward and the other blade was bent backward. The firewall showed evidence of damage by buckling of the aircraft skin at the firewall attachments rivets along the bottom of the aircraft. Pilot provided a narrative that sounded like a perfectly normal approach until a gust of wind caused the nose to raise up excessively during the flare. Pilot kept engine at idle and bounced twice on landing according to statement.
