What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The pilot landed on runway 20 at Farmington. Upon touching down, the tail wheel began to shimmy. The pilot pushed the control stick forward in an effort to reduce the weight on the tail in order to reduce the shimmy. Hen then noticed he was drifting to the right, off the center line of the runway. To correct the drift, he applied both heel brakes. The airplane pitched forward, striking the propeller on the runway 11 times, followed by a slide on the spinner that lasted for 23 feet. The airplane then stood on it's nose and fell over on it's back, coming to rest inverted on the runway. The pilot reported feeling some abnormalities in the brakes during landing. During the post accident examination, the brakes appeared functional.
