From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At 90 knts the PIC released nose wheel steering and the aircraft started an uncommanded right turn. Aircraft departed right side of runway and went approximately 3500 feet through the grass along side of the runway. The aircraft hit the 4000 and 3000 foot remaining signs. Aircraft returned to the runway with approximately 2000 feet remaining and came to a stop. PIC taxied aircraft back to the hangar. Crew looked over the aircraft, notified the maintenance people, and left. Inspection of aircraft revealed nosewheel steering installed incorrectly and the antiskid harness for the right inboard wheel assembly cut in half.
