From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) David jinings, as pilot in command, was conducting a flight demonstration from the right seat of the aircraft with kathleen mclagan in the left seat. They entered a standard traffic pattern for runway 34 at 7S5. Ms. Mclagan flew a normal approach to landing. The aircraft entered ground effect and she allowed the aircraft to float down the runway. Mr. Jinings felt the aircraft was too FAR down the runway to make a safe landing so he took control of the aircraft and executed a go-around. He applied full power selected gear up and flaps up. After flap retraction the aircraft lost altitude and settled back down to the runway. The aircraft impacted the runway with the gear up.
