From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 08/02/02 at approximately 1816 hours CDT Beechcraft kingair aircraft BE-200, N376RC, departed Denton airport (dto) enroute to shreveport, LA. On take off the pilot noted that both generator inoperative caution lights were illuminated and, after unsuccessfully attempting to regain generator power, returned to dto. The pilot took actions he deemed necessary and appropriate to ensure the landing gear was safely extended, then landed on runway 17. The left gear collapsed almost immediately on landing. The left propeller struck the pavement under power. There was no post-crash fire. Pilot did not follow published abnormal procedure. Post incident (post-crash) maintenance examination revealed the following: that the right main landing gear was not locked; the emergency gear extension handle had not been deployed; the landing gear emergency extension system was pumped 8 1/2 times before encountering resistance, I.e., full down; the landing gear handle transit lights and the landing gear down lights illuminated properly; the only circuit breaker pulled or popped was the landing gear warning horn cb and the air conditioning system was in the auto position and operational when battery power.
