From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot and two passengers departed wahoo, NE (ahq), approximately 1535 hours local. Pilot performed a full stop landing at millard, NE (mle), then took off again before turning back towards ahq. Pilot climbed to 2400' MSL when he started experiencing a rough running engine. During that time he noticed the fuel pressure becoming erratic. He looked at the fuel gauge and it read approximately a half of a tank. The engine started to cut off and gain power again but the aircraft was losing airspeed and altitude. He and his passenger started looking for a place to land when they spotted a bean field. The pilot attempted to make an emergency landing in the field when the left main landing gear caught in the beans causing the aircraft to abruptly spin 190 degrees hitting the left wing before coming to a stop. The pilot and passengers were not injured.
