From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On August 15, 2002, at approximately 1010 central daylight time Mr. William pennock, a commercial rated pilot, was attempting to land at Amarillo International Airport on runway 22. During this landing he experienced a collapse of all three main landing gear assemblies. The aircraft came to rest 2,700 feet from the approach of runway 22. There were a total of four passengers aboard. It was reported that there were no injuries to those individuals. The aircraft sustained minor damage to right and left wing trailing edge of the flaps, right main landing gear outboard doors, brake calipers, damage to the nose landing gear doors and a sudden stoppage to the aircraft engine when the propeller came in contact with the runway. Inspection of the aircraft revealed that the pilot inadvertently retracted the landing gear handle instead of the flap handle.
