What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot was landing at Kenmare, ND airport during rain and approaching thunderstorm. During landing roll a wind shift occurred creating a 17 to 23 knot tailwind and excessive landing roll. Pilot attempted a go-around. Pilot stated insufficient airspeed precluded a safe takeoff and decided to abort. Inadequate runway remained for a safe stop with maximum braking on the wet runway and aircraft ran off the runway end into a muddy field causing substantial damage to all landing gear, propellers, and right rear stabilator. (Operator will be photographing aircraft then removing wings and trucking acft. Back to fargo)
