From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot, paul stewart jones, stated that when he touched down at Grove, OK airport (gmj), the plane bounced about 3 feet, and immediately tracked right about 20 degrees off of centerline. Mr. Jones also stated that the plane tracked almost immediately off of the runway into grass and rolled parallel to the runway about 40 feet and at about 40 to 50 mph rolled up and over a taxiway. At that point the nose wheel snapped off, the plane nosed down until the propeller contacted the ground with the engine at idle, and came to rest. An examination of the aircraft by this inspector did not produce any information causal to the incident.
