The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On September 25, 2002 at 1700 EST, N21689 a Cessna 188B was conducting an aerial spraying detail over a dry lake, under title 14 CFR 137 when it impacted a cable crossing a cove inlet and came to rest in a corn field in Pikeville, NC. The commercially rated pilot sustained minor injuries and was the owner of the aircraft which was substantial damaged. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The flight originated from goldsboro-wayne municipal airport in goldsboro, NC at approximately 1640 and had been airborne for approximately 20 minutes. The pilot stated that he was spraying the length of the lake when on the final spray run decided to spray a cove inlet he had missed, after entering the cove the pilot felt a heavy tug on the aircraft tail, he then saw what appeared to be wire wrapping around the tail of the aircraft, he immediately pitched up and felt a second tug. The aircraft managed to clear a tree line and impact the ground in a field approximately 300 yards away. Initial examination of the wreckage found that most of the aircraft was at the site of impact, the right horizontal stab with elevator and tail wheel had been sheared off as well as 85% of the vertical stabilizer.
