From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 10/3/2002 at 1015 CDT, a PA-28R-201, N280ND owned by the university of north dakota and flown by andrea dufresne made a gear up approach to landing on runway 16 Hillsboro, ND. The private pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft was on a solo training flight as part of a commercial pilot training curriculum in which she is enrolled. The investigation disclosed the aircraft contacted the runway while attempting a power off landing with the gear retracted bending the propeller, scraping the step and tail skid. The pilot hearing the aircraft contact the runway executed a go-around and made a touch and go landing at Hillsboro then returning to grand forks where the damage was discovered during a post flight inspection. A post incident engine run up was conducted by personnel at und and observed by FAA inspectors from the FAR FSDO. The engine vibrated noticably between 1800 and 2200 RPM. When on speed the governor could not maintain a steady RPM and at full power the RPM overshot the red line by approximately 100 RPM. No injury was reported by the pilot.
