From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On October 16, 2002, at approximately 15:09 hours local time, N29WL, a Bell OH-13E impacted and severed a small set of electrical transmission wires adjacent to an agricultural plot while dispensing fluid. During the "clean up" portion of the dispensing operation, the aircraft maneuvered to dispense along the southern side of electrical lines traveling west to east. At the turn around point, the aircraft crossed over the top of the wires reversing direction to a westerly direction back along the northern side of the wires. At the field entry point and traveling west along the primary electrical line and abeam a line pole, the aircraft impacted and severed a small set of electrical wires exiting from that pole in a northerly direction to a building located to the north of the field. The aircraft sustained minor damage, no injuries occurred. The weather was VFR with calm winds. The position of the afternoon sun contributed to the incident in that the pilot experienced a temporary blindness condition causing a distortion of the entry point sight picture.
