From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft approached candlelight (11N) airport from the west, overflew the field and entered left downwind for the south runway to take some pictures of the airport. The pilot stated "I was flying at 300 feet altitude, introduced carb heat at down wind to base turn. Engine started to vibrate halfway down the runway. Pilot slowly added power to gain altitude. A few seconds later engine lost power. Aircraft made an emergency landing in the pond. From altitude to landing in pond took less than a minute."
