From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) privacy data omitted the pilot was flying from richmond, VA to manasas, VA on an IFR flight plan. The pilot requested higher altitude, but rapid accumulation of ice and the excess accumulation of ice prevented the aircraft from climbing. The pilot lost control of the aircraft and the aircraft descended approximately 2500 feet in altitude before control was regained. During the loss of control a positive force was exerted on the right wing, causing significant damage to the wing spar. The aircraft landed without further incident. Damage was found to the right wing in the form of a crease in the skin at the wing spar. The wing also sustained additional structural damage. The wing upper skin has several areas of deformity. No other damage was noted.
