From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(.19)On December 21, 2002, at 1400 pacific standard time, a Cessna 172N, N733AM, made a hard landing at whiteman airport, Pacoima, California. The airplane was operated by glendale community college under 14 CFR part 91. The student pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan was filed. The local flight departed about 1355. The student pilot was performing his first solo flight. The instructor reported "his takeoff, pattern, and approach were good. His touchdown was good, but apparently he pulled back on the yoke with too much remaining airspeed. The plane balloned, stalled, and landed hard on the nose gear, damaging the firewall." (-23) (this is a reconstructed 8020-3 at the request of region). On third landing of the first solo flight, Mr. Milton larama li porpoised and made a hard nosewheel landing, causing severe damage to firewall, boot cowl, floor, tunnel, and propeller. This accident was witnessed by his instructor, Mr. Vartan petrosy. Damage to aircraft was sufficient to require dismantling and trucking to the repair facility. Note: no information was retained to co mplete blocks 36 through 38.
