From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot reported he was cleared to taxi out to runway 31 at Tamiami Airport, Florida and as he was taxing out, with a strong tail wind, he proceeded to stop straight ahead by tapping on both brakes simultaneously. After tapping on the brakes, the aircraft turned to the left, which indicated to him, the right brakes did not engage. He further stated, that he immediately proceeded to shut down the engine to prevent aircraft from moving further, and that before the aircraft came to a complete stop, his right wing impacted a runway sign which caused very little damage to the leading edge of the wing.
