From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The instructor pilot, andrew maitland in a written statement said that he and a student pilot, jermome roetering departed runway 20 at fkl to practice airwork maneuvers. After the practice session they returned to the airport and made several touch and go landings. On the last approach the instructor pulled the throttle back to simulate an engine out. He stated he did not hear a gear horn on down wind, base and final. He did not ensure the gear handle was in the down position which led to the gear up landing. After the aircraft stopped and the pilots departed the aircraft the master switch was turned back on. The gear horn was sounding. The aircraft was moved to a maintenance hangar and placed on jacks. The gear was retracted in accordance with the procedures outlined in the maintenance manual. The gear was retracted and the throttle retarded. The horn sounded at the proper position of the throttle.
