From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Curtis langholz stated that he had been flying with a passenger and had landed at Crest park airport to deplane the passenger. After the passenger had deplaned, Mr. Langholz taxied back to runway 15 for takeoff. A short field takeoff was planned. On taking the active runway (15) Mr. Langholz stated that he applied the brakes and applied power and with the elevator, lifted the tail off the tarmac. As the tail fo the aircraft continued to rise up, Mr. Langholz realized that the propeller was going to strike the runway and immediately pulled the throttle to idle. When the propeller struck the runway the engine quit running and the aircraft came to a three point rest on a propeller blade and the main landing gear. Two bystanders assisted by lowering the tail of the aircraft to the tarmac.
