From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 19, 2003 at approximately 1700PST, N2726Y, a BE-95 aircraft experienced a nose gear collapse on landing into Tacoma narrows airport (tiw). While en-route to tiw from renton airport (rnt), the PIC experienced intermittent electrical failure and loss of radios. The purpose of the flight was to reposition the aircraft to accomplish maintenance on the right engine, which was running rough. The pilot was unable to get a green light confirmation that her gear was down and locked. She made three passes by the tower and was able to make radio contact on two occasions prior to total power loss. The tower advised her that her gear was not fully extended. She attempted to manually crank the gear down twice and felt confident that the gear was fully extended. The right engine was running rough. She reported having to constantly adjust the fuel mixture and decided to land the aircraft. Upon landing the nose gear collapsed, causing both props to strike the runway and scraping the lower fuselage forward of the nose gear doors.

As the FAA filed it
