From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot started to taxi and clipped the right wingtip on a metal i-beam post that is part of the lean-to attached to the maintenance hangar. According to the pilot, the engine started to race after start up and he was unable to control the airplane with the throttle or brakes. The airplane pivoted around the post striking two aircraft. One airplane, N2309U received substantial damage to the empannage. The other airplane, N4802G, was undamaged but the left wingtip of N3964J was resting atop of it's left wing. N3964J also sustained substantial damage to the right wing in two locations-the wingtip and the wing root. The center of the wing struck the rudder of N2309U. The CE-150, N3964J, was started and seemed to run normally. The throttle was advanced and retarded several times, the airplane was run up to full-throttle and the brakes held. The airplane was then taxied without incident.

As the FAA filed it
