From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that preflight, takeoff and flight was uneventful until he started his gradual descent for Greenville, AL (prn). He experienced a momentary engine stumble, checked the gauges and enriched the mixture slightly and scanned the engine gauges and the engine was running normall again. Five (5) to seven (7) minutes later the engine started to stumble again losing RPM and he noticed a drop in fuel pressure. He switched the tanks and turned on the aux fuel pump and the engine came to life immediately. Eight (8) miles out of Greenville and at 4000 feet MSL the engine quit again and all attempts at starting the engine would not help. Advised Greenville, ai (prn) of the problem and intentions while landing. He landed on a two (2) lane highway 2 nautical miles from the airport and suffered no injuries and only minor damage to the aircraft, a dented propeller spinner and a scratched propeller. privacy data omitted
