From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Flight originated from myrtle beach, SC. Purpose of flight was to reduce fuel to facilitate inspection and maintenance of aircraft. Aircraft descent and landing normal with positive gear down and locked indication. Following approximately 1000 feet of ground roll the right main landing gear actuator failed to remain extended. The down lock provision is internal to this type actuator. Damage to aircraft was limited to right wing tip, aileron and flap trailing edge, speed brake and various antennas. Additional damage to bottom wing skin occurred when aircraft lifted to move from runway. Statement from Wilmington police officer verified aircraft landing gear handle was in the extend position and three down and locked lights illuminated prior to aircraft being moved.
