From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On left base to runway 30 at Capital City Airport (cxy), main landing gear came down and locked but nose gear did not (no indication). Pilot could hear gear pump cycling loudly, but nose gear would not come down. Gear was cycled several times with the same result. A fly-by was made with cxy tower confirming nose gear doors not open. Pilot did emergency gear extension procedure with same effect. Gear was cycled one more time, flew by tower to confirm situation, chose runway 26 (longest) to make nose gear up landing. With emergency equipment and crews in place, aircraft landed with engines running, onto runway 26 with main gear down/nose wheel up. The pilot was not injured and the aircraft received minor damage to the nose cone, nose gear doors and both propellers being "q-tipped". The aircraft was removed from the runway and taken to a maintenance facility where the problem could not be duplicated. Gear was cycled through numerous times with power and the emergency system with all three wheels coming down and locking. Any cause noted during the repair process will be replaced/repaired and a malfunction/defect report will be submitted.
