From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) April 6, 2003 robert Douglas kunstmann while on final approach in a long-ez, N485SP, to Fullerton airport experienced a high sink rate immediately prior to touchdown resulting in a hard landing. The hard landing resulted in the collapse of the nose gear and tore the right main wheel from the fiberglass landing gear strut. Parts of both wheel pants and the right wheel bounced up into the propeller, damaging the propeller and cowling. The right wing tip also made contact with the ground causing damage to the bottom of the right vertical fin. When the nose gear collapsed the fiberglass nose struck the runway causing minor damage to the nose skin.
