From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was attempting to land at ilm in gusty wind conditions. According to the pilot, the landing was normal, but he lost control and the aircraft veered left and off the runway. A conversation with the mechanic at air Wilmington, where the aircraft is normally kept and where the maintenance is done revealed the left landing gear was bent, the floor buckled above the landing gear, the firewall bent, and the nose wheel collapsed. It appears the aircraft landed hard, the left gear partially collapsed, the nose gear collapsed and the aircraft veered left off the runway.
