From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Katz left deep creek airport on an IFR flight plan. He was told to descend quickly when he was close to gai. He closed the throttle for a quick descent and the gear horn went off. He ignored the horn at that time because the throttle was all the way back to the stop. He was monitoring the traffic frequency at gai and a discussion started about changing the runway from 32 to 14 because there was no wind and runway 14 was the preferred runway for noise abatement procedures. He landed on the runway in use at that time which was 14. Mr. Katz stated that he heard the gear horn but had disregarded it during his throttled back descent and totally forgot it until he heard the scraping noise. When the aircraft was lifted up from the runway he put the gear down with the emergency system and noticed the gear handle in the down position, but he thinks he did that after the fact. The aircraft was moved to the hangars.
