From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During approach to landing on runway 5 at Goodnews, AK the aircraft struck the beach adjacent to the approach end of the runway. The main landing gear struck the beach 127 feet short of the runway threshold and approximately 1 1/2 foot below the runway elevation. The aircraft was in a right wing low attitude and crabbed 20 to 25 degrees to the right of runway centerline at the time of impact. The right main landing gear folded aft, opposite the normal retraction direction. The left main and nose gear failed in the same manner causing the airplane to slide on the underside of the fuselage until veering off the right side of the runway. The airplane came to rest in a marsh adjacent to the right side of the runway.
