From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On this date this aircraft was on short final for runway 17 at skyacres airport when the engine stopped. The aircraft landed short of the runway causing minor damage to the aircraft, no injuries to pilot. This aircraft is an experimental amateur built aircraft. Investigation of the fuel system revealed the a electric boost pump was added to the fuel system. This boost pump was able to introduce air into the fuel system when the fuel tanks are low. I spoke with the designer of the aircraft and he felt a boost pump was not necessary for this aircraft. During review of the maintenance it was noted that the last condition inspection was improperly signed off by a person that was not authorized.
