From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Left a/c pack service panel (4'X12') departed the aircraft while in flight. Flight crew said they felt a bang at FL270 during climb approx over gth VOR (lubbock, TX). All cockpit indications were normal, no eicas messages, no control problems. Pilot conferred with ups maintenance & dispatch, they were not sure but thought maybe the nose gear door had drooped causing the bang and higher wind noise, it was decided to continue to oak. The landing gear was lowered early while still over sparsely populated area. The landing was normal. Post flight inspection by maintenance revealed LH a/c service door had broken free and had damaged the RH a/c service door and the lower left flap. FAA pmi richard m. brown (510) 273-7155 ext 264 from oak FSDO made the on scene inspection.
