From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 7/25/2003 at approximately 0905 the pilot in command, jason akina, of N72AB, a Piper 25, stated that he had flown for about 2 hours when he started experiencing engine roughness. He checked his carburetor heat to see if that would help. He didn't get any response. That's when the engine started to lose power and he decided to make a precautionary landing. He landed at the jacaranda golf course. The aircraft suffered substantial damage to the right wing, the main landing gear and the belly of the aircraft. Inspectors diaz and lleras dipped the tank numerous times for fuel. The tank was empty. Also, the owner of aerial banners stated that the aircraft had flown 2 hours the day before and was not refueled.
