From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Airman stated that during rollout he applied the brakes to stop the aircraft on the gravel bar and the left brake pedal mounting point failed. He was unable to use the right brake because it would have swerved him into the river. The aircraft rolled straight ahead off the end of the gravel bar, nosed onto it's back and began floating downstream. The airman was forced to conduct a water egress and swim to shore. The aircraft was later located approximately four miles downstream having suffered substantial damage while in the water. At the time of the incident the airman did not hold a current medical certificate. NTSB has declined to investigate. privacy data omitted

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED
