From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft had departed the fairmont, Minnesota (frm) airport approximately forty-five minutes prior to the incident and was spraying a bean field at the time of the engine failure. The pilot stated he was just finishing the field when the engine sputtered and quit. At this time he dumped the remaining chemicals from the hopper. The pilot attempted to land the aircraft on a road, but hit a stop sign and ended up in a ditch along a fence row. The aircraft sustained damage to both wings and the landing gear, however the pilot was not injured.
