From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was reportedly doing a dry run for a video when the helicopter he was piloting hit the bottom wire of electrical lines going across the highway. The electrical line hit the cowling just forward of the main rotor. The helicopter traveled 50 yards before impacting the roadway and skidded approximately 70 yards before going off the right side of the road and skidding on its leftside before it impacted the bar ditch. The helicopter caught fire after it came to a stop due to the exhaust pipe being on the grass. The pilot and passengers walked away with minor injuries. The helicopter was destroyed.
